First Holy Communion – Confirmation 2013
We congratulate the 17 members of our parish who received their First Holy Communion on Pentecost Sunday (19 May) 2013. May the Lord continue to be present to them and to their families, teachers and friends.
Congratulations to the 14 members of the parish community where received the sacrament of confirmation from Bishop Kieran O’Reilly SMA on Saturday 23 February, 2013 to administer the sacrament of confirmation.
In prearation for the reception of the sacrament the children, their parents and families participated in a Prayer Service of Light on Wednesday 6 February at 8pm in our parish Church.
Having received the sacrament of confirmation the children will take part in a lenten retreat in the community centre on Thursday 21 March 2013. The retreat will be led by Fr Michael Casey and Ms Cathleen McDonnell.
The enrolment ceremony for the canditates for confirmation took place during 8pm Mass on Saturday 8 December 2012.
First Holy Communion will be celebrated in St Michael’s Church Kildysart on Sunday 19 May 2013 at 11am. The enrolment ceremony took place during 8pm Mass on Saturday 1 December 2012.
The schedule of Preparation Masses for the children preparing for First Holy Communion and their families is as follows:
- Sunday 10 February at 11am;
- Sunday 10 March at 11am;
- Sunday 14 April at 11am.
ThE Children preparing to recieve their first Holy Communuion will receive the Sacrament of Reconcilation for the first time on Wednesday 24 April 2013 at 7pm.
A meetings for parents of children preparing for First Holy Communion took place on Thursday 15 November and for parents of children preparing for Confirmation on Thursday 22
November. Both meetings were led by Sr Essie Hayes RSM. Sr Essie is a Sister of Mercy and is a member of the primary school catechetical advisory team in the diocese.
You are asked to remember in your prayer all those in the parish who are preparing to receive sacraments.
