Christmas 2022 in Radharc na nOileán

Christmas Mass will be celebrated in the Churches in our pastoral area at the times listed below.

May the new born savour find a dwelling place in the hearts of each of us this Christmas.

Sunday, 11 December 2022

We are very conscious of the importance of doing all we can to keep everyone safe during this period of freezing temperatures.
Consequently, we have postponed our enrolment Mass for First Holy Communion to Sunday, 15 January, 2023.

We will still celebrate Sunday Mass in Kildysart tomorrow morning at 11am which will be offered as the months mind Mass for Carmel McInerney, RIP.

People are very welcome to attend if it is safe for them to do so. Alternatively, you may join in Mass using our Kildysart parish webcam.

Mass in Cranny and Coolmeen is cancelled this weekend.

Feast of the Immaculate Conception – 8 December

Thursday 8 December is the feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

It is a Holy Day of Obligation and Mass for the feast will be celebrated in our pastoral area on:

Ballycorick- 9.30am Thursday

Cranny – 9.30am Thursday

Labasheeda- 7pm Wednesday, 9.30 am Thursday

Coolmeen – 7pm Wednesday

Kildysart- 11am Thursday

Lissycasey- 7pm Thursday

Kilmurry McMahon – 9.30am Thursday

The feast of the Immaculate Conception celebrates our belief that Mary was conceived without original sin so that she could become the mother of Christ, our saviour. This blessing gave Our Lady the grace she needed to enable her to say ‘yes’ to the invitation conveyed to her by the Angel Gabriel that she would give birth to Christ, the Son of God and son of Mary.

Today’s feast reminds us that the Lord always gives us the help and grace that we need in our lives so that we may overcome the challenges we face in life and embrace the opportunities.
